Insurance and Medicare
Patients who have Medicare Part B and have diabetes, regardless of whether or not
they take insulin, are eligible for Medicare to cover up to 80% of
costs for their diabetic testing supplies (meter, lancets, test strips, control solution).
The remaining costs for your diabetic supplies that Medicare does not cover may be covered
by any third part insurance you may have. In some cases, our special assistance program
covers those that qualify.
Medicare applies to people who are either age 65 and over, or who meet other special criteria.
In general, individuals are eligible for Medicare if they (or their spouse) worked for
at least 10 years in Medicare-covered employment, are at least 65 years old, and are
a citizen or permanent resident of the United States of America.
